Natural Bed or Organic Bed – Which is Best?

Since we offer both a natural bed and organic latex mattress cores and toppers, there really is no right or wrong choice. Both are non-toxic by nature but there are extra cautionary measures put in place during the organic mattress core production to eliminate outside contamination and therefore a bit more costly. If you are living your life completely organic then the decision is obvious. If you want the next best natural bed solution then I would recommend the natural latex bed. Again, this is more of a lifestyle choice. Both are excellent natural bed materials.

Organic mattresses are a bit of a mystery to me since most manufacturers advertise them as such but yet when I read the details of these beds it’s clearly not an all organic mattress. See for yourself when comparing. Almost everyone out there promote the fact that the mattress is covered in organic cotton or wool or even a combination, yet the actual guts of the bed is not organic at all. How can they claim to have an organic mattress when it’s only about 10% organic materials? There in lies the mystery. A natural bed consists primarily of natural bedding components like talalay latex or dunlop latex. Many have natural cotton and wool combinations as well. Our natural bed made of natural talalay latex and organic cotton is one of the best constructions I’ve seen for this type of product. It clearly outclasses it’s competitors in the natural bed category in both construction and price. Our new organic mattress is made with a real certified organic latex mattress core and topper plus organic cotton fabric and natural ( but not organic) fire barrier which makes it more organic than almost every other one out there. So what’s better, 90% or 10%? You make the choice. These are just estimates but if the components were weighed I believe my estimates are pretty close. A queen organic latex mattress core and topper does weigh approx. 135 lbs alone. I doubt an organic mattress cover weighs more than 15 to 20lbs.
